Development Progress Update
• Over the past several months, work has been focused on developing and refining the electrical systems behind our incubation platform. This includes integrating temperature, humidity, motor, and valve control into a custom-designed circuit board, along with continued testing to improve reliability and performance. These efforts are an important step toward delivering a system built for real-world farm conditions.
November 2025 –
Reconnecting with the Ostrich Industry
• This past November, we had the opportunity to attend the American Ostrich Association’s Annual Conference, hosted by Leakey Rolling Hills Ostriches in Missouri. It was a valuable experience reconnecting with ostrich farmers from across the country, exchanging ideas, and continuing conversations around advancing incubation and hatch success.
The Leakeys did an outstanding job hosting this year’s event. Their operation is exceptionally well organized, and the attention to detail throughout the farm was evident—from thoughtfully designed enclosures to a barn space that was both functional and welcoming. It’s clear that a high standard of care and professionalism goes into every aspect of their operation.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of the community and look forward to continuing to support innovation within the industry.

December 2024 - Looking forward to attending the AoA conference in Arizona this year! In the meantime, we’re busy performing incubation studies on emu eggs.
July 2024 - Here at the Savvy Engineers, DOE is in full-swing with the addition of this 3D printer to our Engineer Lab! Not only can we rapidly produce proof-of-concept prototypes, but in some cases, we’ll print components that are suitable to be assembled into the end-product!
Dec 2023 - What an awesome experience at the annual AOA conference at Misty Morning Ranch! Special thanks goes out to Ryan and Maggie and the whole team for their exceptional hospitality and for hosting those of us who traveled from all over the US and beyond! Learning about the technological needs of the industry and networking with farmers and processers is invaluable. And it was a lot of fun mingling with the ostriches!

Oct 2023 - We designed the World’s Smallest Turbodrill! Imagine a 30hp 1-11/16” mud motor for oilfield coil tubing operations. The custom turbine blades were developed via iterative CFD simulations and several core features of the design are patent-pending. Check out our FEATURED PROJECTS page!
